Jill E. Jester

Jill joined Minor & Jester, P.C. in May of 2010.  She primarily practices real estate, probate, general civil litigation and business law. Jill is a dedicated advocate for her clients.


Jill graduated with her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2010 where she was on the Dean’s List and served as a Director of the Board of Advocates.  After becoming a finalist both in oral argument and written brief at the Evan A. Evans National Moot Court Competition, she was selected as a member in the Order of the Barristers. Jill was a top five oral advocate in the William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition

She obtained a B.A. majoring in history and political science from the University of Oklahoma where Jill was Vice-President of the Panhellic Association and a member of Student Congress.


Born and raised in Denton, Jill graduated from Denton High School.  Before law school, Jill worked as an Independent Contractor in freelance film and television work for such companies as Touchstone, Universal, Disney, ABC, NBC, HGTV, Discovery Channel and the NBA. Later as a Human Resources Associate for IBM.

During law school she was selected as a Judicial Intern for Chief Bankruptcy Judge Westley W. Steen, United States District Court, Southern District of Texas.  Recently, Jill was voted Best Civil Lawyer in the “Best of Denton County” publication (for 2016, 2017, and 2018), Best Wills & Estate Planning Attorney in 2018, and was named a Rising Star Attorney, published in Texas Monthly magazine for 2014-2019.

Since returning to Denton, Jill has been involved in the Denton community. She was appointed by the Governor of Texas to the Texas Woman’s Board of Regents and was elected Chair of the Board in 2019.  Jill graduated from Denton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Denton program and currently serves as Board Chair of the Chamber.  She is a member of Denton Benefit League, Denton City Federation of Women’s Clubs (“Ariel Club”), and serves on advisory committee North Central Texas College Law Enforcement. She has spoken and/or emceed events for organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Court Appointed Special Advocates (“CASA”), Denton Chamber of Commerce, Denton Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Commerce, Denton Black Chamber of Commerce, Denton County Bar Association’s Bench Bar, Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce, Our Daily Bread, SCRAP Denton, United Way of Denton County.  A regular public speaker, Jill has moderated debates for Denton’s City Council candidates and is owner and operator of JEJ Oil & Gas, LLC, JEJ Properties, LLC, and Jester Properties, LLC.
